Job summary
We are a small, friendly, high-performing practice with a list size of approximately 5,000 patients. We are looking for a GP to join our team for 6 sessions per week, working alongside our dedicated and supportive practice team.

We are happy to consider innovative and flexible working patterns for the right applicant or applicants, and we welcome applications from newly qualified GPs. An interest in womens health would be desirable.

Main duties of the job
The salaried GP will be a permanent member of the practice team, employed on a contracted basis with agreed sessions, salary and benefits.

New Road Surgery is a small, friendly GP practice serving around 5,000 patients in Rubery, on the Birmingham/Worcestershire border. Job responsibilities
Clinical duties
Appointments you will have 15 appointments per session these will be a mixture of telephone and F2F appointments.

Duty doctor - you will be duty doctor one day per week and will cover the role of duty doctor on days when the regular duty doctor is absent, and you are working.When you are duty doctor 2 appointments will be reserved for administration during each session.This includes filing pathology reports for any absent GPs and signing and dealing with prescriptions enquires.You are responsible for completing any tasks sent to you directly and ensuring the duty box has been actioned.

Visits - you will undertake home visits as required by the practice or where you deem this necessary for the patient.When you are duty doctor you are responsible for dealing with all home visit requests that are made after 1pm.

dealing with telephone queries from patients or other health care professionals it will be your responsibility to deal with any telephone enquires in a timely manner in order to provide safe care for patients.

Administration
You will be responsible for administration whether arising directly from this caseload (referrals, investigations, results) and indirectly (reports, medicals, etc).

Meetings
You will be required to attend various primary care team meetings these may include the following meetings:

• Formal or informal.
• Essential to the delivery of team-based care.
• Discussing clinical practice standards.
• Developing practice protocols.
• Mutual professional support for the individual practitioners.
• Audit.
• Significant event analysis.
• Meetings with colleagues in the locality, care trust etc. Where these occur on an ad hoc basis, adjustments to clinical workload may be required.

Specific specialist roles in the practice
You have no specialist roles in the practice but will be allocated lead roles during the course of your employment, this will be following discussion and with the support of the partners.

CPD (continuing professional development) time.
This may include a mix of in-house meetings and events, time away from the practice, either in private study, attending educational events or time in lieu of attending educational events outside of normal working hours.
