Role OverviewWe are looking for a highly organised and compassionate Oncology Medical Secretary to support the delivery of exceptional patient experience within a specialist cancer centre setting. Acting as a key point of contact for patients, consultants and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, accurate medical documentation and seamless coordination of appointments and treatment pathways. We are looking for an experienced administrator or medical secretary with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism.
The ideal candidate will be confident working in a fast-paced environment, proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with healthcare systems, and demonstrate strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills. Experience within Oncology or a healthcare setting is desirable, alongside a proactive, flexible approach and commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred service.
Key responsibilities include:- Coordinate patient pathways, including scheduling appointments, managing referrals and supporting oncology treatment planning administration and follow-up
- Provide comprehensive medical secretarial support, including clinic preparation, transcription and maintaining accurate patient records
- Act as a central point of contact for patients, delivering a professional, compassionate service and managing enquiring effectively
- Support day-to-day administrative operations, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and smooth clinic and service delivery.
