Job summaryWe are looking for motivated individuals to join and expand our enthusiastic and friendly team at the Urgent Treatment Centre at West Cornwall Hospital.

This role will see successful applicants join our expanding tier of specialty doctors at the WCH Urgent Treatment Centre. The day-to-day clinical work is varied with excellent exposure to a wide range of presentations across the full spectrum of medical, surgical, paediatrics and trauma.
There is unit is open 0800 - 2200 daily with a team of medical staff, ENPs and nursing staff. There is also ongoing recruitment for a weekday consultant presence at the unit as well which is due to start in the Autumn.
Contracts are based on a ten session Specialty Doctor contract, one session will be for supporting professional activities and includes annual and study leave.
Main duties of the job- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the assessment and management ofpatients within the Emergency Department
- Share responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Emergency Departmentshop floor.
- Provide supervision, teaching and training for junior medical staff, advancedpractitioners, and medical students.
- Active participation in continued professional development as required forrevalidation purposes.
- Participate in departmental and trust clinical governance processes, qualityimprovement initiatives and audit.
- Attend departmental meetings as appropriate.
- Attend teaching and deliver sessions, including simulation.
- Participate in, or lead, the Trauma Team as appropriate (Consultant supervision 24hours a day.)
- Fulfil duties of the weekly roster, including provision of out-of-hours clinical shifts.

- Primary Medical Qualification
- ALS, ATLS or APLS provider (at least 1)
Desirable- MRCP, MRCS, MCEM or equivalent
- Instructor for at least one of Life Support courses
Clinical ExperienceEssential- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required of a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems in Emergency Medicine
- Wide experience in Emergency and Acute Medicine
