Job summaryExciting opportunities have arisen for a proactive, dynamic and inspiring band 5 Physiotherapist to join the South Somerset Community Rehab Team based in South Petherton and Crewkerne hospitals. If you are an enthusiastic Physiotherapist who wants to work as part of a community rehabilitation service to promote independence and help people to rehabilitate and recover in their own environment we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job- Provide a high standard of Physiotherapy within the CRS services.
- Participate in the development of the CRS Service in the community and within the Community hospital bedded environments.
- To provide advice regarding the rehabilitation management of patients to families, carers and other members of the MDT.
- Provide support, guidance and training to Senior Rehabilitation assistants, Rehabilitation Assistants, and students.
- Responsible for a varied caseload of patients optimising their physical and emotional wellbeing through a preventative and empowering approach.

Job responsibilitiesMaintains good communication, liaison and working arrangements with other Trust teams, Trusts and external agencies. To use communication tools (verbal and non verbal) to gain valid informed consent with patients where there will often be barriers to effective communication e.g. loss of hearing, altered perception, expressive and receptive dysphasia, pain, fear. To have the capacity to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment e.g. those with cognitive or speech difficulties.
Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Degree, Diploma, Masters in Physiotherapy
- Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio
Desirable- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
ExperienceDesirable- Experience in an NHS community hospital or community setting at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
