Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Salaried GP to join our friendly, well-established team across two Wirral sites (Hoylake & Meols Medical Centre and Egremont Medical Centre). This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, progressive environment that genuinely prioritises reducing GP workload and improving work-life balance.

With no on-call commitments, flexible start and finish times, and a highly structured clinical day, this role is designed to help you focus on delivering high-quality patient care without unnecessary pressure. Main duties of the job
You will provide high-quality, patient-centred care through a mix of face-to-face consultations and telephone triage, managing a structured clinic of appointments across morning and afternoon sessions.

The role includes assessing, diagnosing, and managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, as well as supporting continuity of care for registered patients. You will work collaboratively with the wider clinical team, contributing to shared decision-making and efficient patient management.

There are opportunities to develop or contribute to specialist clinics, depending on your interests. You will also utilise EMIS Web to maintain accurate clinical records and support safe, effective care delivery.

We are a well-organised, patient-focused practice operating across two sites in Wirral: Hoylake & Meols Medical Centre (approx. 9,000 patients) and Egremont Medical Centre (approx. 4,500 patients). Our experienced and supportive team includes 4 Partners, 7 Salaried GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Clinical Pharmacists, Paramedics, and a dedicated Clinical Admin Team.

Our team-based approach ensures GPs are well supported, with paramedics managing the majority of home visits and admin teams actively reducing clinical workload. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative, approachable, and inclusive working culture.

We are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our well-established, supportive practice team working across two sites in Wirral. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a forward-thinking environment that prioritises high-quality patient care alongside GP wellbeing and workload sustainability.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative multidisciplinary team and benefit from a structured working day, flexible scheduling, and a strong focus on reducing administrative burden. With no on-call requirement and a clear commitment to work-life balance, this position is ideal for a GP seeking a stable and rewarding role.

Our practice operates across two sites:
  • Hoylake & Meols Medical Centre (approx. 9,000 patients)
  • Egremont Medical Centre (approx. 4,500 patients)

We serve a combined and diverse patient population with a strong emphasis on continuity of care, accessibility, and clinical excellence.

You will be supported by a highly experienced and multidisciplinary team including:
  • 4 GP Partners
  • 7 Salaried GPs
  • 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs)
  • 4 Practice Nurses
  • 2 Healthcare Assistants (HCAs)
  • Clinical Prescribing Pharmacists
  • Paramedics (managing the majority of home visits)
  • Dedicated Clinical Administration Team

This structure enables effective workload distribution and allows GPs to focus on clinical decision-making and patient care.

The role is designed to ensure a manageable and sustainable workload:

Morning session: 12 patient appointments + 3 telephone calls
Afternoon session: 12 patient appointments + 2 telephone calls
No on-call duties
Flexible start and finish times

The practice has implemented systems and processes specifically aimed at reducing GP workload, which will be discussed in detail during the interview process.

Support & Resources
  • Paramedics handle the majority of home visits
  • Clinical Pharmacists support medication management and prescribing queries
  • Clinical Admin Team reduces administrative burden on GPs
  • Efficient triage and workflow systems in place
