Job summaryAn exciting opportunity to provide nursing leadership for the ENT nursing team at Hillingdon Hospital.
Working as an autonomous practitioner, the postholder will set up up nurse led clinics within ENT and deliver high quality nursing care.
The role will be responsible for developing and establishing triage for suspected Head and Neck cancers.
This is a development post from band 7 to band 8a once competencies are achieved.
Main duties of the jobThe Lead CNS for ENT services will provide clinical Leadership, service management and line management to the ENT CNS team.
The Lead ENT CNS will deliver expert clinical care at an enhanced level and use their experience to support the band 7 CNS within their practice and role.
The Lead CNS for ENT will be responsible for developing and delivering the nurse led triage service for ENT and Head and Neck patients
The Lead ENT CNS will work with multidisciplinary colleagues to enhance triage for suspected cancers
The Lead Nurse ENT will lead and development the service strategy and implement it to make sure it is fit for the current population of Hillingdon
The Lead Nurse ENT will develop a workforce that fits current practices of nurse led services such as Naso endoscopy and the care of tracheostomies for ward-based patients
The Lead nurse for ENT will develop and deliver nurse led clinics

Person SpecificationEssential- NMC registration
- MSc or MA in related speciality
- Substantial post registration experience at band 7 or above, including relevant CNS experience.
Desirable- Advanced physical assessment and clinical reasoning qualification
- Ability to design and deliver education programmes
- Experience of line managing others
