Job summaryWe are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy and friendly GP practice as a Receptionist/Administrator.
This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of the Practice, supporting both our patients and clinical team. You will be part of a supportive reception and administration team, helping to provide an efficient, professional and compassionate service within a fast-paced primary care environment.
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and able to remain calm under pressure while managing competing priorities. Previous experience within General Practice or healthcare would be welcomed but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
The role is part-time, with shifts covering some 8:00am starts and 6:30pm finishes. Flexibility will be required to support the needs of the Practice and wider team.
Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will be responsible for providing a professional and welcoming service to patients, both face-to-face and over the telephone.
Duties will include managing patient enquiries, booking and amending appointments, signposting patients to the most appropriate service, processing incoming correspondence and supporting the day-to-day running of reception.
The role will also provide administrative support to the clinical team, which may include processing documents, managing tasks, dealing with patient information and supporting Practice workflows.
You will need to work accurately and efficiently, maintain confidentiality at all times and be able to prioritise your workload within a busy environment.
As part of the role, you will also be expected to complete all relevant mandatory training and take part in ongoing learning and development.

The candidate must have experience working in a busy, fast paced, challenging and pressurised environment and be capable of prioritising their workload.
Shift patterns are to be confirmed and will be inclusive of some 8am start times and some 6:30pm finish times. Flexibility will be required at times.
Experience would be preferred but not essential as full training will be provided. Our current clinical systems are Emis Web, Docman and Accurx.
The vacancy we have is a varied role and inclusive of full reception duties whilst offering admin support for our clinical team.
The post-holder will be required to undertake any mandatory training that is needed as part of the role.
