We are looking for a new Salaried GP to work 4 sessions per week to join our successful team. There are options to further increase earnings by working extended hours (either within the Practice or via local Hubs). Clinical administration is kept manageable by the involvement of the whole Practice team. The Practice Nurses action chronic disease and normal investigation results, administrative staff scan and code hospital correspondence and add medication prior to review by a clinician for issuing, and the Non-medical Prescribing Pharmacists sort most of the repeat prescriptions. We use EMISweb for medical record-keeping and PATCHS for online consultation requests.
About usTudor Surgery has a steadily expanding list of 5,200 patients. At least one GP is on duty each day, working alongside a Clinical Pharmacist and Advanced Nurse Practitioner plus the usual supporting practice staff. Situated in the market town of Nantwich, South Cheshire, we share purpose-built premises with on-site community staff and two other practices. We have a staff room for informal chats over hot drinks and lunch and a meeting room for our regular clinical meetings. We're busy - but not drowning - and the workload is generally (just about) manageable within a 9am-6pm working day.
Job responsibilities- Treat patients who are ill or believe that they might be ill
- Perform telephone consultations, telephone triage and online consultation as needed
- Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote patients to live healthily, and apply principles of self-care
- Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care
- Perform home visits as agreed
- Work with other health care professionals to diagnose, monitor, manage and treat long-term conditions, including non-drug-based treatment methods using a management plan, and in line with national and local policies and practice needs
- Conform to practice procedures for QOF, prescribing incentive schemes, PBC and other enhanced services and directives as stipulated by the National Bodies/ ICB or Tudor Surgery
- Complete referral letters as necessary for patients seen
- Review and sign repeat prescriptions as and when required
- Clinical Governance/Quality Assurance Follow and contribute to protocols to achieve a high score on the Quality and Outcomes Framework
- Enhance current polices and procedures within the practice as required
- Ensure data is entered in an efficient and accurate manner on to the practice computer system
- Promote confidentiality (in line with Caldicott principles) within the practice
- Deal with non-NHS correspondence (such as life insurance, holiday cancellations and work related letters)
- Deal with pathology results communications from Out of Hours Service
- Ensure that repairs are performed to a high standard and in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines
Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Experience of working in a primary care environment
- Experience of continued professional development
- Experience of QOF and clinical audit
- Minimum of two years as a GP
- General understanding of the GMS contract
- Experience of medicines management (GP only)
Desirable- Experience of ICB and PCN initiatives
QualificationsEssential- Qualified GP and MRCGP
- General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
- Full GMC Registration
- National Performers List registration
- Appropriate medical defense indemnity
- Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
Desirable- Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
Other RequirementsEssential- Partake in financial management decisions/meetings
- Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- Occupational Health clearance
Desirable- Project lead as required with PCN, CQC, ICB and QOF
