Job summary
University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with the Neonatal team on the middle grade medical rota.

We are looking for the successful candidate to start in September 2026. Later start dates would also be considered. This is a 9 month fixed term job with possible extension to 12 months.

The hospital is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, with easy access to the countryside and to coastal areas. There is an excellent rail and road network to other major cities.

About us
UHD are investing, developing and transforming Trust services in line with the New Hospital Programme. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview.

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Essential
  • Medical Degree, Registration with the GMC
  • At least 3 years in General Paediatrics/Neonatology; minimum of 12 months neonatal experience

Desirable
  • 1 year tertiary neonatal experience, of which at least 6 months at middle grade level.
  • 6 months experience in tertiary neonatology

Essential Criteria
Essential
  • Some experience of advanced neonatal skills like intubation, insertion of umbilical lines
  • NLS provider

Desirable
  • Proficient in intubation, umbilical line insertion, PICC insertion
  • NLS instructor
