You'll work alongside four experienced Consultant Haematologists to deliver comprehensive general and BSH Level 2b Haemato-oncology care, covering a broad spectrum of malignant and non-malignant haematology. This is a replacement post offering the chance to take ownership of specialist interests such as lymphoma, leukaemia, coagulation, or haemostasis.

Working alongside four Consultant Haematologists, you will provide consultant-led care across malignant and non-malignant haematology in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Opportunities exist to develop specialist interests including:
  • Lymphoma
  • Leukaemia
  • Coagulation and Haemostasis
  • Other areas aligned to service needs and personal expertise

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team including consultant colleagues, specialist nurses, pharmacists, laboratory staff, allied health professionals and administrative teams.

We can offer:
  • Supportive and experienced consultant team
  • Well-established Haematology service
  • Opportunities for service development and leadership
  • Modern laboratory and diagnostic support
  • Access to teaching, research and quality improvement opportunities
  • Potential route to a future substantive consultant appointment

Main duties of the job
You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality, consultant-led Haematology services for both inpatients and outpatients across North Northamptonshire and neighbouring regions. Working within an integrated MDT framework, you will:
  • Provide expert care across general and malignant Haematology, including Haemato-oncology, coagulation, and transfusion services
  • Participate in the 1:4 consultant on-call rota, with appropriate middle-grade support
  • Lead and contribute to outpatient clinics, ward rounds, bone marrow lists, and the Haematology MDT
  • Offer clinical advice and interpretation of Haematology investigations to medical colleagues across the Trust and in primary care
  • Take an active role in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Support and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, with opportunities for involvement in research and clinical trials
  • Participate in service development, bringing forward ideas for innovation and pathway improvement

You'll be joining a department that values professional growth, collaboration, and compassionate leadership. In return, you'll find autonomy, academic partnership, and a culture that puts patients -- and people -- first.
