Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic experienced qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to cover maternity leave for the post of Senior PWP for 12 months fixed term contract, becoming part of the integrated mental health and justice pathway team within the Norfolk Prison Team (HMP Norwich, HMP Bure, HMP Wayland). Due to the nature of the fixed term role prison vetting would need to be in place.

If you want a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is definitely the job for you! Prisons are one of the most challenging yet extremely rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work.

You will work as part of a diverse and supportive team of Psychological Therapists, PWPs, nurses, psychologists, and psychiatrists. We are able offer our team members the opportunity to continue to develop their expertise via training and development opportunities in different parts of our service.

THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ACROSS MULTIPLE PRISON SITES (HMP BURE, HMP WAYLAND AND HMP NORWICH) SO THEREFORE ABILITY TO DRIVE AND TRAVEL INDEPENDENTLY IS ESSENTIAL AS SOME SITES ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Main duties of the job
The role predominantly involves providing weekly case management supervision, and the provision of clinical skills training (group) as required, to qualified and trainee PWPs, in order to ensure the quality of the service at Step 2 is maintained, and that our PWPs are enabled to develop their clinical skills. The post holder will assist the leadership team in the development of the Low Intensity part of the service, whilst helping the service achieve its required key performance indicators. The role will also include holding a small caseload of clients across the 3 prisons dependant on service need to deliver clinical interventions.

The post-holder will be able to demonstrate experience of providing high volume, evidence-based practice in guided self-help using telephone and other methods of delivery, as well as an ability to lead others in a challenging environment. Working with multi-agencies within the prison service to provide effective communication.

Work closely with the Lead Therapist to achieve clinical activity and outcomes for service delivery and assist in the development of the service within agreed framework.
