Main duties of the jobApplicants are invited to apply immediately for a Specialty Doctor post in Medical/Clinical Oncology based at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust (work at Kettering Hospital maybe required).
This post is suitable for a doctor with full GMC registration and an MRCP qualification or equivalent and desirable experience in cancer treatment and required to have knowledge of management of oncological emergencies. The precise duties will vary according to the seniority and limited experience of the appointee.
Candidates will be expected to carry out on average 6 clinic sessions a week, cover the oncology emergency assessment bay, oncology wards, chemotherapy suite, review on-treatment radiotherapy patients and participate in covering the on-call rota alongside current Specialist Registrars within the department (on-call supplement applies). MDT attendance and SPA time is also included.
Educational opportunities, equivalent to those afforded to doctors participating in recognised training schemes will be provided. We are keen to encourage applications from candidates who have already chosen to train in Oncology and are wishing to further develop their skills.

- Track record of clinical audit.
- Experience of teaching and training to undergraduates and junior medical staff.
Desirable- Oncological training in Medical and Clinical Oncology.
- MSC Course or PGCERT Medical Education.

- Be able to project ascetic -drainage, chest aspiration and other ward based practical necessities.
