Job summary
This is a full-time Locum Consultant Plastic Surgeon post at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust. It is an evolving role following retirement of a substantive colleague.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will join a team of consultant plastic surgeons and will contribute to a comprehensive consultant-led plastic surgery service. They will have broad experience in all aspects of plastic surgery. The appointee will participate in the on-call rota, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes

Job responsibilities
This locum Consultant Plastic Surgeon post provides an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team supporting the delivery of specialist Plastic Surgery services, with a particular focus on sarcoma reconstruction and lower limb trauma. The successful applicant will contribute to the assessment, surgical management and ongoing care of patients requiring complex reconstructive procedures, working closely with regional and tertiary specialist teams. The role includes participation in clinical governance, teaching and service development activities. Essential

• GMC with licence to practice
• Currently on or eligible to be included on the Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery
• CCT / Portfolio Pathway registration expected within 6 months of interview date

Qualifications
Essential

• FRCS (Plast) or equivalent

Desirable

• Higher degree

Clinical skills / experience
Essential

• Dedicated fellowship in soft tissue sarcoma surgery & reconstruction or equivalent experience.
• Experience of orthoplastic reconstruction in a major trauma centre or Orthoplastic fellowship
• Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, their families and other health professionals

Desirable

• Documented logbook evidence of more than 20 microvascular reconstructions as first operator. (Please upload anonymised pages from logbook with application)

• Able to develop, present and operationalise coherent ideas for service development/delivery
