Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, dynamic and inspiring Band 6 Interventional and Fluoroscopic Radiographer to join the team in the Radiology Department at Musgrove Park Hospital.
Main duties of the jobTo undertake IR (Radiology and Cardiology), fluoroscopy and general radiography (including peripheral sites), take part in the extended hours and on-call service, to meet service needs.
The IRF component will consist of room and equipment preparation, patient care and management of complex x-ray equipment to support the clinical team to provide a high standard of safe and efficient IRF radiography. IR is a rapidly growing area with an increasing volume and complexity of procedures therefore there will be a need to develop new skills and understanding as new procedures are include in the service.
To undertake projectional radiography as required.
To undertake foundation management tasks as defined in the job description.
This post holder will be required to undertake out-of-hours duties, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays duties. A maximum journey time of 30 minutes will apply for emergency call response.
Any other reasonable task commensurate with grade as directed by the radiology manager.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Degree of equivalent in diagnostic radiography.
Desirable- ILM 3 First Line Management or equivalent.
ExperienceEssential- The ability to work unsupervised
- Working with and supervising student radiographers and assistant practitioners
Desirable- Minimum of two years post qualification radiographic experience.
Additional CriteriaEssential- Knowledge of department and Trust aims and objectives
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Knowledge of all aspects of radiation protection for staff, patients and implications of the IRMER regulations
Desirable- Previous student assessing experience
- Highly detailed knowledge of anatomy
