Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Specialty Registrar (ST6-8) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Subspecialty Trainee in Urogynaecology), commencing on 05 August 2026 until 01 August 2028.

Main duties of the job
Candidates should have completed at least five years in a Specialist Training Programme in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and be ready to progress to ST6 as evidenced by an Outcome 1 in their most recent ARCP, and have obtained the MRCOG examination or equivalent.

This job is unlikely to attract a work permit. Applications from candidates who require a permit to work in the UK may not be considered if there are a sufficient number of other suitable candidates.

The Postgraduate Dean confirms that this post has the required educational and dean's approval. All candidates will be required to demonstrate a working knowledge of the English language.

Candidates should hold a current NTN. Candidates who already hold a UK CCT and who benefit from European Community rights or have indefinite residence or settled status in the UK may be able to be awarded an FTN if appointed.

Job responsibilities
The post is intended for candidates who fulfil the RCOG Subspecialty criteria for research exemption at the time of appointment. The programme is for two years but it is anticipated that the training time will be extended to account for on-call commitments in line with RCOG recommendations.

This placement is suitable for Specialist Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology progressing to CCT and sub-specialty accreditation.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMCs Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

  • Urodynamics experience/ATSM Urogynaecology
