An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident Clinical Support Worker who is committed to providing outstanding patient care to join our friendly team. Elmwood Unit and Medical Outpatient busy outpatient areas, delivering a diverse range of medical and surgical clinics and services.

Main duties of the job
We require a Clinical Support Worker to work across three outpatient departments: Elmwood, Cedar and the Medical Day Unit. The postholder will hold an NVQ in Care and will be expected to work both independently and as part of the wider multidisciplinary team. The role involves supporting the delivery of outpatient services and providing high-quality care to patients across a variety of clinics. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential for this post.

Job responsibilities

• Work as a member of the Elmwood and Medical Outpatients team, undertaking delegated duties and providing high-quality patient care within agreed competencies and under the direction of registered practitioners when required.
• Adhere to all departmental and Trust policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
• Prepare clinical environments, equipment, and treatment rooms to ensure they are ready for outpatient clinic sessions.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the care, cleaning, storage, and maintenance of instruments and equipment used throughout the departments.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe moving and handling techniques and use appropriate equipment when assisting patients.
• Maintain awareness of health and safety requirements, ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff at all times.

Person Specification
Essential

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (RQF accredited) or NHS England accredited Care Certificate, with evidence of full completion of the knowledge and work based assessments / relevant experience
• Moving and Handling Certificate
• Basic Life Support Certificate
• Previous experience in a health care setting

Desirable

• Manual handling skills
• Practical skills in providing essential aspects of care.
