As the
Digital Transformation Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role supporting with prescribing analysis and implementing new digital solutions.
You will also have the opportunity to maintain skills and competencies by regularly supporting Pharmacy Clinical Hospital Services, to include the Final Accuracy Checking of Medications.
Main duties of the job- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of EPMA across the Trust and coordinating the day-to-day provision of pharmacy data services.
- Working with the Digital Improvement and Innovation team to translate clinical needs into digital solutions within the Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation department.
- Supporting the Digital Transformation Lead Pharmacy Technician with the analysis, development and provision of reports on medicines expenditure, using complex data sets that require interpretation and comparison of a range of options to inform decision making by the pharmacy team, clinicians, Care Groups and committees.
- Supporting with technical aspects of Pharmacy Digital systems across the Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust (MPFT).
- Supervision of dispensary staff where requested by the Dispensary Manager.
- Providing dispensary / Clinical / Accuracy Checking Technician support (ACT) support to the dispensaries as required.
- Supporting the Clinical Informatics Team with prescribing data analysis.

- To support the development and analysis of reports relating to medicines expenditure.
- To support with Dispensary/Clinical duties across the Redwoods, St Georges Hospital and Haywood Hospital as needed
- To support with delivering and auditing a training programme for IT, pharmacy and other healthcare professionals in the use of electronic prescribing and other associated systems.
- To support the provision of specialist pharmacy technical input into the electronic prescribing and medicines administration system (EPMA) and medicine management systems across MPFT
- contributing to wards both operational and strategic development.
- To support the development of the Electronic Prescribing System (EPS)
- To provide support for the training of Pharmacy team and service users
- To support the implementation of new technologies.
Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Pharmacy Technician Registered with the GPHC
- Nationally recognised Accuracy Checking Qualification
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science
- Advanced Excel Training
Desirable- Medicines Management Qualification
ExperienceEssential- Knowledge of NHS Pharmacy Systems
- Ability to compile and present reports
- Experience working as a registered Pharmacy Technician
Desirable- Experience of training staff in aspects of Pharmacy Digital Systems
- Experience of EPMA Systems, Electronic Patient Records, EPS
