Wellbeing Suffolk is one of the top ranked NHS Talking Therapies services in the country and we are proud of the support our service provides in improving people's lives. Due to our ongoing success and the continued demand for our services, we are expanding our team and looking for a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join us.

Main duties of the job
You'll already be a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, experienced in delivering quality clinical sessions to clients and keeping up to date with advances in psychological therapies. Our PWPs work within the stepped care model, in accordance with NICE guidelines and approved clinical interventions.

This is what Wellbeing Suffolk offer:
  • Flexible working hours
  • Working in one of our two Suffolk bases (Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds)
  • Please note you will be expected to work on site for the full duration of your working hours initially, with flexibility reviewed during your first 6 months in role. Following review, a minimum of three days working on site is required.

Wellbeing Suffolk delivers NHS Talking Therapies and is currently benchmarked in the top three NHS Talking Therapies Services in the country with workforce surveys evidencing high morale. The service was awarded continuation to deliver the Talking Therapies contract for a further five years with a potential to extend for a further five years. this award builds on existing strengths to deliver the new model launched agreed in September 2024, so, a very exciting time to be joining the service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification OR
  • Experienced and Qualified Graduate Mental Health Worker with relevant experiences and competencies as required

Desirable
  • A qualification in provision of supervision Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy
  • Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree

Experience
  • Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of mental health practice from previous experience

Desirable
  • Evidence of working in the local community

Skills
  • Effective analytical and decision-making skills
  • Care planning skills

Knowledge
  • Models of risk assessment and management.
  • Mental health/mental illness.

Desirable
  • Awareness of serious mental health presentations (psychosis, bi-polar).
  • Medication and the monitoring of its effects.

Other
  • An understanding of the context of IAPT stepped care.
  • Car driver or ability to travel independently, and willingness to travel to locations throughout the organisation.

Desirable
  • Fluent in languages other than English.
