Main duties of the jobAs a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse, you will provide clinical leadership within the Emergency Department, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate patient care. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating patient care within a busy Emergency Department.
- Supporting patient flow and discharge planning in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.
- Promoting a patient-centred approach and delivering high standards of evidence-based care.
- Providing education, advice, and support to patients, families, and carers.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with professional standards.
- Helping to create and maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment.
- Supporting the implementation of clinical policies, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior staff, students, and healthcare support workers.
- Acting as a role model for excellent communication, professionalism, and compassionate care.

Person SpecificationKnowledge- Relevant clinical experience at Band 5
- Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice, particularly within specialty area and the application of this in practice
Qualifications and Training- Registered Nurse Part 1,2,12
- State Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council
- Emergency Care qualification or equivalent evidenced experience
- Demonstrates evidence of ongoing continuous professional development
- Teaching qualification
Desirable- Post-registration training preferably in speciality area - APLS, ALS, TNCC/ATLS preferable
